What is the Solar-Box?
A drawback with the standard Thermodynamic Solar system, is that you have to install a new and large hot water cylinder. This is not ideal in the cases where customers already have an insulated cylinder or where the thermodynamic cylinder is too large for a hot press. The Solar-Box from Energie is now available and allows you to use your existing hot water cylinder.
How does it work?
A Refrigerant gas passes through the solar panel at a temperature of -20ºC, thereby allowing the collection of the energy from the sun, rain and wind. As the fluid is running at negative temperatures, it collects the heat from the air by natural convection, working also at night. It’s performance will be greatly increased with solar radiation.
The fluid is then compressed in the Solar-Box which causes the fluid temperature to increase. This heat is then released into the circulating water by way of a high performance plate heat exchanger.
Finally, the fluid goes through an expansion valve and will evaporate into the aluminium solar panel and the process repeats.
